Dreampi setup help

I'm taking the plunge into the dreampi.

I've got a pi 3 model B with a 16 GB sd card. I formatted the card to Fat32, used Win32diskimager to write the dreampi image to the card.

I plug the card into the pi, plug in an HDMI cable, power on the pi. I'm expecting to see some sort of interface on the display but all I get is a black screen. Is this normal? How do I access the command line? Am I being dumb and missing something?

Definitely feel dumb now. After an hour of pulling my hair out, it was a bad HDMI cable.
