Shenmue II and GDemu = black screen via composite.

While I do have a VGA to HDMI cable, I still have to switch back to composite for a couple of games that simply won't boot in VGA mode. When I boot Shenmue II in regular AV mode I can hear menu sounds but the screen is blank, why is that? Would a simple AV to HDMI converter fix the issue? I'd rather leave one set of cables plugged in instead of having to change them depending on the game. Cheers
