I recently purchased a replacement screen that is a perfect fit for my Treamcast that has a faulty old school composite display.
This 5.6 display is a perfect fit and has VGA input for an even sharper image:

I did some early testing and decided to hack up a VGA cable for an internal connection. But when I connected the LCD driver board to the 12V line on the Treamcast power supply and powered on, one of the driver board components sparked and the board has died….
I’ve ordered a replacement driver board - Does anyone know how I how can connect this internally to the DC power supply? I figured, just patch to the 12V line and it would work (but I guess that’s not the case). I had tested with a separate 12V 3A adapter that worked fine.
I am planning to replace the janky PSU with DreamPSU - can I just tap off the small 12v point for display and another for the internal speaker? (Original components were both connected to 12v line)
The Treamcast is just your standard VA1 with a custom power board to connect to the old LCD and stereo speaker, fan is rerouted to the left side and power moved to an external ac adapter.
