went to another play n trade then the one i usually go to and they had a glass case with sega consoles like sega saturn and dreamcast and genesis with a large library of ther games. also had a atari for sale for good prices like at 20 to 30 bucks. my eyes completely lit up lol. felt like a kid in toys R us/kids R us.

So Suzuki is now only a consultant for Sega? Good luck with a new console..as in never going to happen.

Thats just what they want you to think. It will EVENTUALLY happen. There's no delaying the inevitible.

You know, I wouldn't be so certain on that one buddy Many consider sega to have failed when they left the console race. I see it in a completely different light. Sega was, in a way, just doing what they have always done. Pioneering.

I not convinced that game consoles will be around forever. I have a hard time believing Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will all continue to make consoles in the distant future... Just a late night thought

That is a good point. With the way that Sega does business right now they aren't dependent on the success of any 1 console, either their own or from anyone else for that matter, this allows them to offer games to every platform out there therefore they have a much wider base of income.

It may be that Sega sees the writing on the wall for the dedicated game console and are trying to adapt to the changing market place ( a lot of people are predicting the end of the game console as appliances like Smart TVs, Phones and Tablets take over from the dedicated console for playing games).
I think that is the reason for Sega's continued push in to the Android, iOS markets, this strategy gives them a much larger revenue stream, while still publishing the boxed titles on the traditional consoles too. I think that "Less Quantity, More Quality" has become Sega's company mantra when it comes to releasing the big games eg Sonic Generations.

So do I. Its pretty evident that the traditional console market is going in a different direction. I mean most Japanese publishers are involved in more digital content now, most rumors suggest Xbox Loop having Cloud Gaming XBL, Sony has been trying to incorporate DLC into its failing Vita handheld, and SEGA has already been showing signs that they are ABANDONING all optical form of multiplatform support for digital,social network,mobile and DLC only titles in addition to the tablet android thats in development.

The digital age is growing very rapidly. Simply because games just cost way too damn much now in days. Development costs on traditional consoles have reached outstanding levels.($50-60 million is the average budget for a game now.)

As for the console market in the next gen, Mircosoft stands to gain a huge advantage. Sony doesn't have the budget to launch a Playstation 4(if Vita fails SCEI will be out of the hardware business in 2 years), the Wii U's poor Japanese 3rd party support is a sign that the system is doomed to flop and suffer the same fate as Atari 5200), and SEGA is opening up more avenues for overseas hardware revenue(they just filed a Casino Slot patent and are developing a gaming Andriod tablet).

Also, a new arcade board is set to debut next month, if your a SEGA fan you should know that EVERY new SEGA arcade machine bears careful watching. Because all SEGA home consumer products are based off of arcade hardware and always have we should always watch to see if SEGA has any consumer plans for a new arcade machine(mostly the non PC based.)

id buy a sega tablet but for use but not everyone is going to go andriod to play as a console. its just stupid. using the screen as a controller is annoying. easily press the wrong bottons. if thats where these idiots are taking gaming im not gonna be a part of it. its cool to have games for tablets to have something to do on it but to make that gaming in general is retarded. i love consoles and yes its great to modernise it each generation but to go completely andriod is stupid.
