Are the remaining games not compatible with this method, or is it more a matter of limited time and contributors?

Huge thanks to TapamN and everyone who’s worked on this!
It's not a "method", per se. Each hack is done on a game-by-game basis. Sometimes more easily than others.

Regarding a current list of all VGA-patchable games (and those not yet patched), see this page:
https://consolemods.org/wiki/Dreamcast: ... nd_Patches
Please add Gunbird 2 to this list
My absolute Heavy hitter (along with Jojo.)

Gunbird 2 can be "Forced VGA", but has slow down issues past stage 1. Probably, why they nixed official VGA support. Doesn't seem fixable to me. Might as well rewrite from scratch.

As a 240p title, it plays beautifully in RGB mode, I can report.

Not fixable? Oh damn.
To my simple mind it would be perhaps not super easy, but somehow doable to just increase the resolution and not have the slowdown.
I do play it in 240p. But that's the whole thing. Every time I want to play Gunbird 2 off I go to search for rgb cable. Would be so convenient to just have this playable in 480p.

And the slowdown is in every stage. some more than others. it is almost literally unplayable in 480p currently

I use one of these: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807233962351.html

Just a matter of powering down the Dreamcast and flipping the switch to RGB.

I'll add the pixels are squished by an uneven scale, just look at the shot stocks grids..
