Time to bump this thread and put some information out here.
So Summoning Signals was intended to release in "Winter 2020" as claimed by the developer and the publisher, RetroSurge Games. The original Twitter account, @12dbsoft, was changed to @Bertholet_ sometime in January, and on
Patreon, the 12dbsoft account made a final post on January 6, indicating the end of 12dbsoft.Given that it's now March, I'm fairly certain that both of 12dbsoft's titles, Reaperi Cycle and Summoning Signals, aren't likely to release soon, if at all. To quote the developer...
I'm also trying to focus less on computer/technology-driven projects and more on writing and using pen and paper for sketching idea that might just never end up in a projet. Not every idea need to become a video game prototype.
Summoning Signals initally debuted as an alpha before a more fleshed out demo came along in October 2020. But Summoning Signals began development following an announcement in August 2019 that Reaperi Cycle would likely never be completed. This makes two games that are unfortunately not going to be complete, with only demos existing (i.e. "The Hideout" and the Summoning Signals demo, both on magnes.itch.io).
At this point, Bertholet has created and kickstarted two separate projects, one called Zinequest and a TTRPG called Tales Of The Glass Gnomes. Not much can be said for now on the future of the games.
I hope for nothing but good things with the dev's future endeavors. Game development is hard, and as we're aware, some projects won't always make it beyond the drawing board. That we even had an opportunity to see what this man was dreaming up is an indication that he has creative chops. Maybe one day, we'll see the full story of Reaperi Cyclo or Summoning Signals, and we can hail it among the greats like LOL Lack Of Love, or Seaman. For now, it is a charming showcase, like Take The Bullet or Innocent Tears.
