i figured out a way to get a decent virtual drive to use for mounting .cdi files (especially for newer OSes, and without the bs adware)
i have to credit vasiliy for the original post in regards to using alcohol 52.

Download alcohol 52% free version (install on a virtual machine first because it has bs adware)
once installed copy all of the files from the programs folder, and use them on any win 64bit OS.
you need to install SPTD as well..

testing and working on win7, win8.1, and win10 64bit OSes without all of the bs adware.

daemon tools last good version was like 3.47?
after that they bundled adware.

wincdemu is good but it doesn't work with .cdi files
virtual clone drive is good but it doesn't work with .cdi files
(i have both of these installed also but have the services disabled and the virtual drives disabled)
(also any context menu items are disabled)

anyhow you have options..

good luck.

i gave up on daemon tools, i do like the older versions though...(i remember one version had a particular aggressive adware)
but now since i use alcohol 52, it works for everything i need.
only thing that sucks is that if i want to use imgburn, i have to uninstall SPTD driver then reboot lol.
but its not a deal breaker.
reinstall sptd driver, reboot and were back to mounting .cdi files again.

Yes i have the older version with out spyware can still find it have to go thru some steps to make it install still .. prolly not worth it for a normal user but i use it to copy mount make cdda with DJ so it's needed for them to both work together not found any other combo that gets along lol
