Shmup Creator on Steam- use to make DC games?

Post by sunnshine »

Sorry for the daft question but there's a new shmup creator due for release on Steam in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anything made on it could be ported to the DC?

I (clearly!) have no idea how stuff like this works.

Link to the program's Steam page (I have nothing at all to do with this, I just think it's a promising looking program and thought others might be interested too) -

I didn't mean can that program run on DC, I meant could anything made with it (it exports a game .exe file) be ported to run on the DC.

I don't see why not as long as you can extract the source code, port the game engine, convert it to something that can run on the DC using a SDK, with all the limitations that it brings, and resize probably all the assets.

Would be easier to build something from the ground up imo.

I do like the idea of a Shmup Maker for the console though…

There is a shmup maker game for SNES called Dezaemon. I guess you could use that to make a shmup, no programming skills required, and have it run on DC via a snes emulator.

This game maker engine for DC already has templates for Shmups, platformers and others.

If we are talking making them from scratch that is a good open engine to try making one from.
