Wine unfortunately won't work. Some of the helper tools fail. I need to rewrite the application to eliminate all of them. I've already made some progress there, but I have more to go.

That doesn't happen on my system, with an analog VGA box connected to a CRT. The pixels are perfect across the whole screen. The PAL full screen upscaler might cause something like that, but the patch replaces the PAL code with VGA, so it shouldn't be possible for that to get enabled.
think this is just a DCHDMI HW1 issue for some reason. looking more likely that it is what it is. thanks for the info anyway.

Just got my Dreamcast back from the installer.
Got myself a DCHDMI/DCDIGITAL hw1.
Already got a GDEMU (on fw 5.20.5).

Is there anything I can help with/test?
Let me know exactly what I need to test in order to help out.
