Dead Or Alive 2 - SD Remaster

Post by Esppiral »

Disclaimer this is still WIP!!!

Thanks to the amazing work done by of CBNJ I've been able to port some of the High res texture Pack I did for Dead or Alive 2 LE to use with Flycas, now it is possible to run theses textures on actual hardware!

Yet they are obliously lower resolution than the textures for Flycast, they still look better than the default ones even at the same resolution, as the example below.

What this patch brings?
Widescreen Aspect Ratio
Partial Widescreen HUD ( still figuring it out)

Ingame lighting during cutscenes.

Hayate got the same jacket on just better overhauled textures. Pretty much first PS2 version with the realistic graphics Team Ninja were trying to apply on with all Characters & Stages. Sure your aware off by now that version was a early build the Tecmo Manager took off with! If he took the extra time & waited sure looked like this. Bam us players would have been fooled over with completely back then. So nothing that Dreamcast couldn't have handled if Hard*Core was made for it.

Now if only can use that Universal Patcher.

Extract the DCP file from the ZIP in Esppiral's original post. Apply it to the GDI of DOA 2 LE using Universal Dreamcast Patcher.

Thanks for answering!

And there is a way to convert GDI to CDI, in order to burn on a regular CD?
I dont have GD EMU, just regular DC and SD Dreamshell...

There's no one-size-fits-all conversion mechanism. Instead, you must build the CDI on a case-by-case basis.

As far as DOA2 is concerned, assets would have to be downsampled in order to fit on a standard 700 MB CD-R.

Have no idea how to do that hahahaha

I´ll try to use the universal patch to create a GDI and test it on my Dreamshell SD, which isnt even the updated version hahaha

Nothing to downsample just need to dummy up extra space for the CDI. Downloaded the patcher but my computer refused to open it. I'll wait till this all finished so I can make my own Story Mode adventure.
