Henshin Engine Kickstarter moves Dreamcast port to first stretch goal

Hey guys, so there is a new kickstarter for a potential new Dreamcast indie game which is a side scrolling platformer with shmup stages. It looks really great and hopefully they can reach their first stretchgoal to make it a reality.

Quite a reasonable goal and stretch goal for Dreamcast. Looks like a cute little game, and I can totally get behind a new platformer for DC.

The art style seems quite different between the shmup and platforming levels. Where the base game looks like a NES title, the shmup lvls look like a 16 bit game.

Hopefully this one gets supported.

Once it hits the $22,400 stretch mark goal I would back it. Sadly I don't own a TG-16 which I would love too if it weren't for the ridiculous price tag it's going for now.
My Steam Profile (from SteamDB)

  • Worth: $2623 ($699 with sales)
  • Games owned: 250
  • Games played: 146 (58%)
  • Hours on record: 1,948.2h

Wouldn't call it ridiculous, considering the insane game database the console has. Imo it's still worth the money

I was lucky enough to play a TurboGraphx 16(US version) here in Texas back in 1999 or so. By that time it was already pretty old, but I had always wanted to own one since I was little. I am 32 now so I was like 15 by the time I played it. I was going to trade my BMX for it but deal never fell through lol. A really awesome system for sure.

There is an emulator for it on the Dreamcast though, but I think emulation speed was something like 90%.

Anyways, it looks a little like Cotton on the Shmup parts indeed. Plus the villain is a parody of the Megadrive which is awesome.

@Vasiliy, you could always spend like $20 or so on it just for now to get it closer to reaching the first stretch goal.

@scaryred24, If nobody pledges until it hits the stretch goal then what is the point in pledging at all? The point is to get to that first goal so we DO have a native port of the game on the system. ;)
