Hi,
Probably it's due to Kentaro Miura decease, I want to have a new look to this game and translate the japanese subtitle into european langage (french in particular).
The japanese version is the only one to have subtitle.
A while ago, I believe it's @yzb who took his precious time for helping me, share with me this information :
"The long subtitle of the Japanese version is in the.TEX file
The.TEX file is actually a PVR picture pack
Note that the subtitles are in the Alpha layer of the picture
You need to manually enter the file header of the PVR, or write a small program yourself" :
And share those screens capture to help me :

https://ibb.co/MGcq4T4
This second one is very interesting
But I look in the all versions game file, and all track03.bin and I never see this format and TXB0f ascii "caracters"...
I guess the .TEX files are compressed... Any clue how I can I open them please ?

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
There are TEX2TGA programs (written for specific games) that convert .TEX files to .TGA for viewing and editing purposes. I wonder if there's one that would work for Sword Of The Bersrk?yzb wrote:I don't know how you view it![]()

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
The Chinese version of this game was released a long time ago, here is the post and video
http://bbs.chinaemu.org/read-htm-tid-12 ... age-1.html
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Bz4y1r7H1
Unfortunately, I can't find the source code
But the tex file structure is very simple, hold my analysis of the structure directly into the pvr file can be saved

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
First many thanks to be here dear @yzb
I never find the beginning of a .TEX started by ascii TXB0f or something similar.
I look very closely in file on TEXTURE folder.
I even look at the whole track03.bin

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
Berserk is the best manga ever and the game is really good for the fans. I remember that at the time it was kind of an important game, considering it was a little like "devil may cry" but a few years in advance.
I hope someone takes the time to translate it to as many languages as posible so more people can enjoy it.

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
Hey all,
i have played a bit around with the files in the game, and this is how the format specification looks like:

I made also a tool that extracts/converts the .TEX files into .PVR and packs them together after editing. Feel free to use it.
https://github.com/derplayer/DCBerserkTextureTool
For testing purposes, i've also created a small subtitles localization proof of concept, to see if it is possible.
Here are some videos of the results:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAFzFH7KNEU (Undub Proof of Concept (JPN Voice, ENG subtitles)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8GXRnm-Gsc (Undub Proof of Concept (ENG Voice, ENG subtitles)
I don't plan to continue with it, but maybe someone can take over with it in the future, with the right tool in his hand

Re: Sword of the Bersek subtitles patch
Thank you again
i have two questions : I didn't find any .exe in the github, I tried to run all files and no one start.... there is something to compile ? a software to download for running .cs files ?
In the readme I read only "Start the tool"...
I have the same issue with your pvr tool...
