a bit off topic, but here's something very interesting I found:
NG Dev Team Our Shock Troopers styled game is scheduled for Winter 2013.

Does that mean like, November/December 2013 - as in 14 months from now? ;)

I'd think if it was going to be first quarter 2013 (Jan-March), they would have announced and done some screenshots and buildup by now. But maybe they'll do an announcement in a few weeks ;)

I'm really not sure, I just found that on their facebook page; All I know is that I'll be looking forward to it, coz Shock Troopers is an Ikari/ Mercs type game & thats a genre we haven't seen in an indie game yet

It would be cool if they could take advantage of the DC's expanded capabilities to do a 3 or 4 player mode on the dreamcast version of XYZ. The pc version seems to have 3 normal characters, and some suggested secret characters and 2 player play, and it would be one of only a small group of shmups that has done this - gigawing 2 being the only other I can think of.

Btw, I beat the 3 level pc demo (stage 3 was very short and likely unfinished). Very good game!

You can help to fund and improve this project by ordering early.

Best regards,

Please put your attention at these words from the store's product catalog:
* Size of the game depends on final budget. The budget depends on pre orders/pre sales.
I am thinking of ordering Collector Edition with a t-shirt and you ?

I don't have enough information on the game to pre-order for 42 Euros. the only advertisement for the game has been the short youtube video of one level, filmed in poor quality... I guess the game content will increase based on preorders, but I need to see more of the game before committing any money to it right now. I also really want to know if, unlike the neogeo version, they will allow for in-game rotation of the screen (like the other DC tate shooters). Apparently the neogeo hardware is too underpowered and incapable of rotating sprites... If they do a 100% direct port, they could leave out this function, which could be a dealbreaker for me.

I'm uninterested in a tshirt as an extra. I'll be skipping the collector's edition, and would probably prefer a "regular edition" if there will be one...

Agree with dark completely. There just isn't enough info from NGdev that may persuade me into dropping cash for a pre-order. They need a legit trailer for this game!

senile team is working on something new for the dc, it's not aotb & I don"t see em doing a shmup atm, so I'm guessing either a fighter or a platformer

That's cool, I applauded the efforts of the Gun Lord team, That was a very nice change of pace but I'm not really that big of a Turrican fan so I didn't buy it. Hopefully we can have a new fighter and / or platformer to go with the new Indie games that have came out.
