After reading along here for a long time and creating my account years ago, I finally want to introduce myself.
However, I’ve never posted anything until now.

I do speak English, but I feel very connected to the close-knit community there.
My name is Napomex, also known as MexxNapster, and this is my story about how I discovered the Dreamcast.
At the age of 6 or 7, I had my first experiences with DOS before switching to Windows 3.11. My first personal console was a Game Boy Color, which I got when I was 8 years old.
Unfortunately, our car was broken into while we were in France, and my Game Boy was stolen.
Luckily, the insurance payout was good enough to afford a purple Game Boy Advance.
For a long time, I stuck with Nintendo handhelds since I wasn’t allowed to block the TV at home, meaning I never had a stationary console.
I came across the Dreamcast by chance. During the economic crisis in 2010 or 2011, I found a complete Dreamcast set, including a controller and several games, for just €24.
At that time, I was mainly playing on PC and initially thought the console would just be a fun little distraction.
But once I saw what this old machine was capable of, I was amazed!
My excitement skyrocketed when I discovered the active community that still develops new games for our beloved console to this day.
I couldn’t stop I ended up spending my entire apprentice salary on Dreamcast hardware, accessories, and games.
That’s how my collecting journey began.
I started modding, overclocking, repairing basically everything that was possible.
But at some point, for about 6–8 years, I only played occasionally.
I hardly had time work was demanding, then I bought and renovated a house, and eventually, a wife and child came into the picture.
My son is now 3.5 years old, and for the past nine months, we've been enjoying playing "kid-friendly" Dreamcast games from time to time. That reignited my interest, and as a result, I ended up taking over the German Sega forum www.Segacity.de as an admin to keep it alive.
So now, I’m not just a fan I’m also a forum owner. That was never my plan, but life often takes unexpected turns.
