To move on, we have no choice ...

GD-R of GUILTY GEAR X V1.000 2000.03.27 (to check)

Whats is special :

-16 Track instead of 38.
-Music is not present during the opening scene. It also changes from that known throughout the game.
-The intro is not the same.
-The title menu is on a blue background and differs from that of the final version.
"Normal" mode should be "Arcade" mode.
-In demo mode, by pressing "A", numbers and letters appear which could correspond to "Ranking".
-In the play mode selection menu, the "Recording" and the Homepage "do not yet exist.
-The option mode is incomplete. It only seems to work when you first get to the title menu.
-In the character selection menu, the "Count" icon is placed at the top left and not at the bottom left. A die option is present, the "SLE mode xxxxx". I don't know what it is. The 16 fighters are directly playable. An "R" replaces the "?" for the random choice of the character.
-In play, there is no "Press Start" to bring in player number two.
-Still in play, the "1 Pl" icon on the health bar is not there.
-In game, scoring is not implemented.
-By tapping the opponent, a score appears. Emblems also appear, more or less large, during hits.

May be the same build as the Naomi version shown at "AOU2000 Amusement Expo in 2000". From these facts, it seems that they were working on the dreamcast and naomi version almost in parallel.

I am working on a file devoted to a canceled game. I have the authorization to publish the archives (certainly incomplete) of the preparatory work of this one. This is a game for a Sega console.

It's not the big game, but it's still fun.

There is no playable demo.

A small preview in video:

A canceled game? that's sounds juicy...

And too bad that "Black Belt Dreamcast 3DFX INTERACTIVE INC Confidential Document" doesn't really go technical, it talks about stocks and finance...but interesting read still.

This is awesome! I'm a big fan of Quake 3 and I really appreciate the chance to play around with those prototypes.

Thanks for sharing your collection with us, Loloretro.

When we talk about canceled Dreamcast games, we always think of headlines like "Soul Reaver 2" or "Half life". No one remembered "Kyskrew". Yet it did exist, the project had gone relatively far.

The game was in development by Dragonhydre later renamed Cristal Dream, an independent French team made up of around twenty members at the height of the project.

We were to lead a young rebel by the name of "Kyle" enraged at being forced by his father to enlist in Tyrell's Military Academy. There he will learn to wield the sword with dexterity to fulfill his destiny and save the planet Farnell.

Christophe, alias Shinji, one of the composers of music offers us these musical themes. We can thank him for making his archives publicly available.
The complete file on Kyskrew (sketch, concept art, music, part of script) can be read at the following address, you will find the Shinji archives there for download:

Edit: Make some noise to unearth more and have testimonials from other members of the team. I was able to locate that Shinji. There must be more!

Awesome thank you for your work on this and for the team for releasing it.

Did they have the sega license to develop to the Dreamcast though? It seemed really interesting to me.

SEGA MARINE FISHING V0.800 2000.05.17 (TO CHECK) dreamcast release (japanese build)

In Arcade mode, the game is in English, not Japanese. The fishing rod is not removed from the level selection menu.
The main menu has a different design.
The presentation image of the website is different.
The presentation of the original menu changes.
The icons of the mini games are different. The aquarium menu items seem to be unlocked. We notice some dev display elements at the top of the screen. If you decide to go explore the aquarium, the "Free Camera" option is available.
In free fishing mode, we start with a sort of DEBUG Menu. You can load 4 different maps and choose your material. I was unable to use the menu for items. In arcade mode, if we do not pass the level, the Content asks us to choose between Yes or No. By selecting No, we come across this warning which does not appear on the final version (to be confirmed). It is possible to make the "Press Start" disappear on the screen by holding X and Y.
The music is not implanted in the menus.
In the main menu, 2 references lead to the option menu (the second must be the non-functional Load).
Map icon with a cross in one of the Mini Games. We will also notice the difference in the background and the non-presence of the Scoring logo I suppose.
In the title menu, indications are missing and others are in supplements.

There are certainly plenty of things that I haven't seen ...
