Hello :)

Hi, I'm Sarger. I'm 15 from the UK and got interested in the Dreamcast after playing some Soul Calibur on the system about 5 years ago, and only 5 days ago I was able to pick up the system with a few games, Daytona USA, Sonic Adventure, and Chu Chu Rocket, and I've been enjoying the system a lot. Now I'm working towards getting my Dreamcast online. I haven't got myself a Memory Card yet- that's to come, so Sonic's going to be in there for quite some time with that orange light on the front, disc drive thinking as I sleep, pretty much doing unpleasant things to the electricity bill.

I look forward to maybe playing some Quake and PSO in the future, along with a VGA cable so I can sit the system next to my 12 year old monitor unused for about 4 years sitting on my desk, the same desk as the router.

Yeah, that broadband adapter's going to cost. Welp.

Welcome. Good collection thus far! Three of the best games available for the platform, all top notch titles there. Make sure you avoid Spirit Of Speed and Vanashing Point no matter how cheap they are.
Currently sucking at: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Road Rash II and Pirates! Gold

Searching for EGG, SFA3, and ANY GENESIS/CD/32X games.

From what I could tell looking at Spirit of Speed, it looks bad, but Vanishing Point was fun on the PSX, so I would like to pick up the DC version. Might just be me though.

I got a bit of yellowing on my system so I'll probably be working on fixing that up. Even the logo on the top has yellowed, but hopefully I can get that fixed soon.

Will the modem work with a ethernet-phone cable (if those exist?)

If only it were that simple! No, you'll need a way to convert the high speed connection into a dial-up connection which requires a bit more work. There are several ways to do that. I have a handy little connection guide you can check out here if you're interested.

Welcome BTW! :)

The netopia method actually doesn't look too difficult, but it might cost a fair bit. I'll wait until I can get the dreamcast closer to the desk. You don't need to go online to enjoy the console either, right?

I'm sure while I wait until then I can enjoy the offline games on the system, which look pretty nice still.

Yeah unfortunately the equipment can be difficult to find and expensive. If you take your time you can usually find some good deals though.

I've never had mine online. Your experience won't be hindered by connectivity.

I had very high hopes for vanishing point and was let down on an astronomical scale. I may be bitter about that.
