I'm sadly experiencing the same issue I have with KOFXI on a USBGDROM equiped system, the game just keeps going back to the Dreamcast BIOS menu.

Game works great on TerraOnion's M.O.D.E.

In order to avoid some bug and freeze like with can have with resident evil code veronica and eternal arcadia. Perhaps the speed is the same than real gd rom, and not enough for this game...
Not sure of this, only my feelings.
No one is crazy enough for buying all and made a compare ^^

I wonder if there's a way to do anything about the button mappings? Apparently the game recognizes buttons A/B/C/X/Y/Z as 1/2/3/4/5/6, except on the pad A/B are in the bottom row and X/Y are in the top row, whereas on the arcade A/B/C is in the top row and X/Y/Z in the bottom one. Can this be somehow swapped with hex editing?

EDIT: this would actually make sense for all the ports, not just SamSho6. This way it wouldn't be necessary to fix the button mappings via nvram settings for every single game.

I'm starting to think that there may not be a good answer for the Z/HP button not working on arcade sticks. Looking at the recommended button layouts for Atomiswave games, it seems like only 5 buttons are supported, but there are multiple layouts, i.e.

Metal Slug 6/KOF XI/NGBC:

LP HP SP
LK HK (empty)

Samurai Shodown 6:

LS MS HS
K (empty) Evade

In the arcade you can simply wire the buttons you want used in the layout you want, so that might be our only option here.
