I really wanted to like Carrier. The soundtrack is commendable as the tracks appropriately create a sense of dread and doom throughout the game. Gameplay mechanics such as using a scope to detect infected persons and invisible enemies is also a nice touch. The story however, progresses at a slow pace- making it a chore to play through because boredom eventually kicks in. There's also not enough variety in the environments, which makes moving from area to area uninteresting.
The voice acting is also horrendous. When Jack finds Eddie's disfigured dead body he says "Eddie what's going on?" with such casualness that it comes off as unintentionally funny. What could've been an effective scene is ruined by terrible dialogue and poor delivery. It's also disappointing to know how much content was cut from the game because they wanted to release it before Resident Evil Code Veronica- content which could have made this title a far more enjoyable experience.
Since you enjoy the game, I recommend checking out the early beta/prototype as it has some differences from the retail version.
