Might have a broken sonic adventure disc

For anyone who has played Sonic adventure, you will know that stages are separated into sections, or acts, and usually have a slight load time in between. Right before act 2 of Emerald Coast, my game softlocks. It’s physically impossible to get past the first stage of the game. Any way to fix this?

You could burn a copy of the game and use it to progress past this part and then return to the retail disc.

If the game is scratched you could look up a local disc resurfacing place too
