Under volt with DreamPi 1.7
I decided to use DreamPi 1.7 however when setting it up, I would get an "under volt" message that would reset my command prompt randomly making it difficult to enter the sudo wificonfig command without interruption. Once I enabled the wifi and restarted my pi it went away and it seems to be working. Any ideas why this happened?

Perhaps the power adapter is not the correct voltage? Isn't 5V needed?

Re: Under volt with DreamPi 1.7
Even though it says "under-voltage", it typically means it's not getting enough current (amps). Using a PC's USB port is not recommended. The recommended amperage for a Raspberry Pi is around 1.8A with about a 1A minimum. A USB port on a PC (or really any other device for that matter) only supplies 0.5A.Dostuff wrote:I thought so also but its been plugged into my usb on the PC since forever and never had a fault. Yeah, I have power strips with built in USB ports, and always plug my stuff into them to charge and power devices becasue it supplies everything with correct current I throw at it. I had issues when plugging my Pi into my PC. So just use a wall wart USB adapter to power it or something, or just get a powerful enough power adapter for it.
