Serial - USB Modem Issue With DreamPi 1.7 DLE

Hi everyone ! I always used a external serial modem with DreamPi "1.7" but it does not working with "1.7 DLE" which is currently available for download.

Has anyone had this kind of problem? With the "old" 1.7 (without DLE) it works perfectly.

When I type "sudo dreampi start I got this:

Yes, DLE will not work with most serial modems. 1.7 tried to improve support for serial modems but it caused reliability problems with regular USB modems. This is fixed in the DLE but serial modems are not going to work as a result. If you want to use a serial modem, you'll have to stick with 1.7.

Unlikely. It's not worth breaking other things to support serial modems as very few people use them. 1.7 just fixes the reliability with USB modems (which doesn't apply to you since you're not using one) and has an updated version of the wificonfig utility.

I made a small change suggested by my friend Scrivani and it worked !!!

Edit this line using vim ENABLE_SPEED_DETECTION = False

Just set to True and it worked !!!

ENABLE_SPEED_DETECTION = True
