Hi, been 17 years since i started this port i think you can call this final there is capped normal quake framerate for modders and uncapped extra fast for twitch fps game plays..


Quake is a first person shooter that was released by id Software in 1996 and the first game in the popular Quake series of video games. In the game, players must find their way out of various maze-like, medieval environments while battling a variety of monsters using a wide array of guns. The successor to id’s DOOM series, Quake built upon the technology and gameplay of DOOM

About Episode 5: Dimension of the Past
Episode 5: Dimension of the Past (called "DOPA" for short) is an add-on episode for Quake developed by MachineGames, to commemorate the game's 20th anniversary. It's available to download for free.[1]

Despite not being developed by id Software themselves, the episode is considered semi-official, being developed by a fellow Zenimax-owned company that has previously co-operated with id Software. The episode also contains many allusions and callbacks to Quake proper, such as the re-appearance of the Dopefish easter egg, along with the final level of the episode being almost identical to Shub-Niggurath's Pit.


this mod works perfect on radquake5.0 and is included :)

Was my fav quake 1 for saturn radquake 5.0 is better in every way and is free not retail

Ps.. Plain files are there for both.. if boot dreams ask you to scramble the 1st_read.bin dont I have run both from a cdr from the real dreamcast

There is file you have to add to uncapped or capped when you use it with out cdda

Unpak this put it in your ID directory this will disable CDDA on non cdda mod cd's and also stop the screeching if you dont add 10 cdda tracks..
Just unzip it unrar it what ever you use put it with your pak0 pak1 files same directory This is for when you dont use cdda it will also make loading times shorter as it not trying to play cdda

files included every thing you need to make mod cd no mods included i will do a mod cd with my fav mods soon

also has saturn quake music for the menu :) non cdda

Thank you as the chapter closes the cleaned commented src will be on github in a few days with the changes also included kos cdda fake cdda wip other things like the 640x480 render anyways the list of features up there is not complete yet there is more it can do :)

Excuse me for not being technically minded but do I just need to download from the above link and then burn to a CD so I can play it on my Dreamcast?

Awesome! Thanks so much for working on this and seeing the project through. I really miss the porting scene of the community. Back in the day the DOOM ports were my jam, but as of recent I am finding love for Quake (which I am ashamed to say I never played any until recent except for Q3Arena.)
I'm looking forward to burning this to a CD.

Any other projects or ideas in the pipeline?

Yes vga works.. cap is normal dos it caps the physics framerate depends on the physics so jump walk speed etc it's for quake 1 modders so there games run the same on pc as dc..

Uncapped i can run this at any framerate if i want i have one that's so fast you cant even play it.. uncapped has the physics locked no more then 72fps

just watch the videos to see the change benchmark or fps not going to work does not use that part of quake anymore

This is final not working on it any more it's as good as i wanted when i started runs better then saturn port runs better then a highend pc of 97 my pc in 97 could run this about 12fps if you was lucky..

I can make a dreamshell version to add to the post sometime this week
