Dreamcast controllers won’t work

So I just purchased a Dreamcast on eBay. It powers up and works great, but the I get no input with the 2 controllers I have. What’s goin on? Thank you.

check F1 on controller board in your DC

I’m very much a noob with this. I did try the quick fix where you twist the resistor fuses to bypass them. So now all the controller ports work... except for port A/1. So I can’t play games. Now, I just ordered a whole controller board on eBay. Any links or help with replacing that would be great. From what I see, it looks fairly simple. I have model HKT-3020.

The controller board is a direct drop in replacement very simple. Just reconnect the fan and ribbon cable to the mobo and good to go. Other than that it is just 4 screws.
