Anyone know what the highest price that has been paid for an unreleased Dreamcast game is?

House of the dead (!) proto, early preview sold for 35k usd

Any picture or proof on that one? The price sounds a bit too high for me. $750, $1K or maybe $1.5K for a "regular" unreleased GD-R, but $35.000? For 35k would Ian Micheal code you a two level "House of the Dead Saturn Asset Demo Emulator" for Dreamcast

The buyer was an ex- colleague of mine.

Unfortunately we have different views about this matter.

He is that kind of "collector" that doesn't mind paying big bucks to get rare pieces ( videogames and other stuff) but once he gets that item, he "gets back to his bubble" and doesn't share much info ,or pictures or ..whatever...

On top of that, he still thinks most of these items are still under some kind of IP
( I also share this view , at least , looking at the many NDAs I've signed for some companies)

What I've asked (many times) , and ( I hope he reads this) , please preserve your prototypes. Dump them so that they are safe, and hopefully... If you want... In some years release them.
Roms, won't take all the value of the prototype itself.
I don't mind paying to get them release.

So the auction of Castlevania Resurrection was taken out due to the fact that the producers of the soundtrack threatened to sue the seller..

Mark L. composer of the soundtrack, threatened the seller with litigation,due to copyright of his work.

Mark, FYI wants no money whatsoever, and wish's that this gets released to the public

This disk is property of Konami BTW , he can't legally sell it

And yes, some people ex konami that worked on the title are already aware of this.

For the price the proto was going on, this would be sold to a collector, for never to be seen again

Well hopefully he didn’t compose any music for all the previous beta and unreleased GDR that were released.
Strange state of mind, he had a very small contribution in this short demo and behaves as if he’s still a Konami’s employee.
Frankly 99,99% of people wouldn’t care that this is property of Konami or that the guys wants to make profit on it
