Re: Playing backups
I might be wrong but pc cannot read cdi or gdi files you would need the nulldc emulator and do it that wayOG Style wrote:I was wondering if it is possible to play my backups from the computer using the lan adapter. Thank you

Re: Playing backups
I mean storing all my backups on my computer and playing them on the dreamcast over the kan adapter. I know I can make backups on my pc over the network.

Re: Playing backups
That's what gdemu is for it can be done with a BBA but it's slow not all games work and such loading is long for each game ..

It has problems so not much point to it
Whole collection fits on SD card plays instant with a $60 plug in gdemu
https://github.com/zeldin/dc-virtcd want to do it then here you go no cdda support there is lag and stutter
DC-VIRTCD
DC-VIRTCD is a CD virtualization system for the Dreamcast. It allows you to run software which accesses files on CD-ROM, without actually burning those files on a CD-ROM. Instead, the files are accessed over the network. This happens transparantly, without any modifications having to be made to the software itself.

Code: Select all
Requirements
Broadband adapter
A computer to run the host side of the application on
A network cable
Features
Works with any software using Gdc system calls to read the disc
Supports ISO and NRG images
Misfeatures
No support for CD-DA
Does not work with e.g. NetBSD, which accesses the GD-ROM drive directly

Re: Playing backups
Thanks for the reply. I know someone selling a lose Dreamcast with controllers, vmus, a few games and a ethernet adapter. They want $200 and I'm trying to justify buying into just for the adapter. I have everything else.
