VincentNL, you and your team are constantly impressing me with the work being done on RAH. I'm so thrilled to see talented reverse-engineers and hackers working on the Dreamcast!

I'm hoping to attract the interest of some assembly-savvy folks to my visual novel translation patch for the possibility of a half-width font, and seeing what you all have been able to achieve with RAH is inspiring! I may even be able to figure it out myself, not sure yet.

Either way, keep up the GREAT work!

We have used Kion's public repo info for modding .nj / .njm

@ateam

You are always very kind Derek and really hit the soft spot! RAH quickly turned into a challenge for everyone involved to do more, break free from limits and create new content!
We are near the end of the ride and it's been a very special one!

Regarding halfwidth is very tricky because it required to reverse all 3 main functions: Text Format --> letter building from font table --> modify size.

Even if every game is different, peek&poking values --> labelling them in disassembly is the correct way to approach the task.

I appreciate the compliment, it means a lot to me. I love this community and this scene with all my heart.

This I do know, it's just a matter of taking the time to learn new techniques for (specifically) font-hacking, while simultaneously doing a boat-load of script editing, graphics work, playtesting, and other hacking/tool dev. needed for the game. Thanks so much for the tip, and all the other advice you've given me along the way.

EDIT: Shameless plug incoming...
In case I forgot to mention it, you can use my nifty Universal Dreamcast Patcher and its DCP format to ship your patch in what I feel is the easiest, most portable delivery method available today :D

Dear Heroes,

Looking back over the past 10 months and still can't believe the game is close to fully playable and translated!
It were challenging to reverse game structure, rebuild custom made files and coding new functions, but none of that would had mattered without the wonderful new 3D models / animations, fonts, translation and text editors, made by the awesome guys in RAH Team!

2022 will mark the release of Rent-A-Hero No.1 unofficial translation and I hope you'll enjoy playing it as much as we did working on it!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and an awesome New Year!

Merry Christmas to all the team working on this!

Been playing the Blue Submarine and The Lost Golem translations today (finally!!) - I still can't believe they're both completely playable, with great quality translations. - Really looking forward to Rent-a-Hero - these are great times for the Dreamcast :)
