PSO V2 Serial number and Online help

Hello all,
This is probably a common question but I recently bought a Dreamcast, set up dreampi and got the DC to connect using the web browser disc.
I then found out I needed to download and burn the boot PSO patcher - i launched the game and processed to try to go online. Since I bought a used copy and a brand new sealed copy, my intention was to play the used and save the sealed as collectors item.
One problem I'm habing is the used copy doesn't have a serial number and key - so i just randomly googled a set of numbers and sent it .

After 5 failed attempts signing on, I'm reaching out for help.
The error message I got was the server was probably down for maintenance - so not sure if it's me or of it's legit the server.

Please let me know of there is a better set of serial number and keys i can use and if the server is on 24/7 and or if i did anything wrong.

I figured it out...i has to start an offline game then go try to get back onlone
