hey there,
i'm trying to get pop'n music 3 and 4 working on my dreamcast. i bought a modded one with a gdemu (no clue if it's a clone or not) about 2 years ago and it's been working fine but when it comes to swapping discs i'm totally clueless. i keep seeing mention of a button which i've tried using in the disc swap menu of pop'n 2, but nothing happens. i've changed open_time and detect_time to 2000 and tried holding the button for longer and it still doesn't work. am i doing something wrong?

I had a quick google to see if they were easily locatable but doesn't seem like they're popping up. I do have a dump of all DC scene releases somewhere so they'll be in there. Not that I need it, as I can disc swap on my MODE.
think it was Echelon or Kalisto that done the no append discs..... if memory serves correctly.

These would be great to hunt down. I'm not nearly a big enough fan of these games to do the legwork in building such a hack myself. However, downloading ready-made disc images would be cool!
I can't believe I didn't think to check the SelfBoot CDI repo on the archive, I just assumed it wouldn't be there! Here's a GDI version I just built for anyone wanting it.
sorry for not replying sooner. i managed to get it to work - right after i select yes in the disc change menu in pop'n 2, i have to press the disc swap button on my gdemu once or twice (once for 3, twice for 4) as fast as i possibly can for it to consistently work. any later and it straight up doesn't work, no clue why. thank you for the help everyone!

You can also just use the patched GDIs I shared above so that you don't have to ever worry about disc-swapping again
By “Restore” I mean modding the game to replace the music in the game’s second world with the one used in the multiplayer of the world 2 map,The demo...
