I have gdemu clone, at first i have issues with latest openMenu, but it works with old, included with card manager openMenu.
I'm really want to play Chu Chu Rocket! on my DC.
Games that work - working flawlessly, without stutters and sound problems.
Im stuck with default PSU, fan and dead battery.
My DC is Japanese one, VA1 board but MIL-CD is not working (dunno why). HKT-3000 on backside.
Here is the list of all games that just rebooting my DC on launch:
4wheelthunder
Bangai-o
ChuChuRocket
CyberTroopers
Deep Fighter
Expendable
Fighting Force 2
Maken X
MTV Sport skateboardning
Nightmare Creatures 2
Resident evil 2
Sega Rally
Sega Smashpack
Sega GT
Shenmue 1
Shenmue 2
Soul Fighter
South park chefs...
south park rally
spawn
street fighter
Sword of the berserk
The king of fightera
Tetris
Toy Commander
Urban Chaos
Vanishing point
Wetrix
Wild metal
Also slightly different issues with
Tomb Raider Windos CE stuck
Tomb Raider 4 loading stuck after winCE
UFC freezing on launch of the fight
Some games gdi dumps, major games cuetogdi
its aroud of 30% fail to lauch list.
Could it be the problem with old PSU?

Re: GDEmu clone not working with all games
Okay, i guess i've solved it. TOSEC Chu Chu Rocket works fine
But i've have an issue, my DC is Jap one, and Chu Chu Rocket is in Japanese too, in matter of fact I used EU and US version but they all switch to Japanese, how can I solve it, same issue with Sonic Adventures.
Is it old SEGA conspiracy to manipulate Russian people to give up on Sakhalin Island?

Re: GDEmu clone not working with all games
Do i need to start another topic to ask why OpenMenu, latest version won't work on my DC? Or someone can stumble and give me some advice? My GDEmu clone is v5.5 (I guess its 5.05) 2018-04 date of manufacture.

Re: GDEmu clone not working with all games
If your DC is rebooting itself over and over, typically that is caused by a lack of connection with the pins in the PSU. You can solve this by taking out the PSU, and slightly bending the remaining pins back (you don't have to do this too hard), which helps them make better contact. This happened when I installed my GDEMU clone, even though the DC was not having any issues prior to that, and from my understanding is a common issue. If you do this, you can also scrape some sandpaper or plyers along the pins to clean off any oxidization for good measure. Here's a good video that covers cleaning and bending the pins:

Another very common problem is the type of SD card you are you using. Others here have more expertise on that, but lots of issues like this that get brought end up being the result of an incompatible or funky SD card.

No, I did not have issues with rebooting, its just comes back to OpenMenu, TOSEC GDIs almost work fineShreddieMercury wrote:If your DC is rebooting itself over and over, typically that is caused by a lack of connection with the pins in the PSU. Still after using TOSEC GDI, 4 wheel thunder after launch goes black screen, Tomb Raiders have the same issues. Dunno why. Also i guess i cant just switch from Japanese in some titles that detects my DC is from Japan region (god damn it, i bought it in russia, my hometown near Japan)

Re: GDEmu clone not working with all games
While resetting DC’s are commonly a power issue, they can frustratingly be hard to trouble shoot to a definite answer.
I finally got to the bottom of a year long struggle with my own modded Dreamcast not too long ago. I bought new GDEMU’s, new stock PSU’s, new PicoPSU’s, and I kept getting the same result; 40 mins into Crazy Taxi the textures vanish and the game crashes, console resets.
Soulcalibur, Dead or Alive 2, PowerStone … and many more, wouldn’t run for any more than 30 mins without the console resetting. All my ROMS are TOSEC rips.
I must have had the cleanest Dreamcast pins in the world, still no luck despite this and multiple new components. In the end the only thing that solved my issue was to replace the motherboard. I put a whole new motherboard in, added my components and I’ve been good for months.
Is a frustrating issue for sure.

I had the same issue. I redownloaded the GDI and they now work. Some games I had to download with the vga patch already included.
