This feature requires ODE menu software to transmit game ID to the VM2. This functionality it something Chris wants to implement on the VM2 side with the help of other developers on the ODE menu software side, but he's very busy right now getting orders sorted. I expect it to be a feature eventually though.

I wrote him an email, but he did not answer me. tell him that as soon as he gives the SDK, I will immediately add VM2 support to the openmenu

Yes, he's extremely busy right now getting the orders packaged. However, he did reply to your email. Did you not receive it?

Regarding the screen size, what you see there is the final dimensions. It may take a little getting used to, but in my opinion it's not a problem. The screen looks fantastic.

Yeah i think he's going to be slammed till the end of the year at least, fulfilling orders. Glad to hear it's something that is a possibility and IMO it's a real game changer (pun intended) for the usability of the VM2.

Does this then mean TO would eventually have to put a fw update out for the MODE after all these years? here's hoping, but I'm not too optimistic, given their current disinterest in even maintaining the cover db properly.

I really want one, but it depends on the price.. I could be wrong but I remember seeing 200 for each one.... I could do less, maybe 100-150

I don’t know about MODE, but there will be support for VM2 in openmenu.

I happen to know that Terraonion plans to implement game ID support for the upcoming 8BitMods VMU, but that could be a long way away. They're also going to implement it for DCDigital. It will use the same methods are PS1Digital and N64Digital, documented below.
