Guessing it's VMUCD v1.3 and the DreamOn release jus bundles VMZip

A full VMU dump is 128 KB. As such, a 4 GB card will give you over 31,000 virtual VMUs.

512 GB is total overkill.
Whoa yeah. I only have a 256GB in my Vita. Thanks for the suggestion. I have a few, smaller capacity cards (including a 4GB) that are too small for much else, so I was hoping to use one of those.

Is the UI and manager Windows-only? I was interested in doing integration work with it for ElysianVMU2, which is cross-platform. Maybe this could be an avenue for Mac/Linux users?

I won't be satisfied unless I have a virtual VMU for every GD-ROM in existence.

in this case, even a 1 GB card will be plenty for you. :D

I said every GD-ROM! Not every game! :geek: As an upper bound, I would estimate that Sega created 100 million discs. (Assuming around 10 million consoles sold, with ~10 games per user). 100,000,00 x 128KB is about 12 TB. So I need 12 TB of SD cards to be happy.

I've messed around a little bit with the VM2 today. I love the feel and the packaging. I've been using Sega's 4X cards for so long, it's going to be nice to have a screen again. I wish the power button would turn the VM2 off though.

My major complaint is that the save files are still organized in 200 block "VMUs." With an sd card, I just wanted one giant VMU, so I wouldn't have to worry about running out of space on any given VMU nor switching between them for game saves. I'm not looking forward to manually creating VMUs on the VM2, then transferring my saves over, plus turning on/booting and loading any game whose saves can't be transferred, like SoulCalibur, so I can manually save to the VM2.

That's a job for another day. I have other things to get to today.

Please check the manual from the VM2 IndieGoGo page. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the unit.

Unfortunately not possible without modifications on the Dreamcast (and software) side.

I don't see why turn it off if the Dreamcast remote always keeps it juiced, I guess if I'd ever pull this honey out
