Presenting the Sega "Cyber-Coupon Project". This isn't one, but a series of promotional DLC that serves as discount coupons.

Our first encounter is 6 discount coupons to present when attending Sega's JOYPOLIS indoor amusement park. Coupons could be printed at home, or presented digitally using I-Mode or VM. Hey, this is cool and I wanna go!

The page does provide an example screen.

Unfotunately, the download content and .VMI links have vanished. 5 downloads listed in the archive, with a 6th coupon (commented out) from July 2000. The printout coupon page has this 6th one (CPN_KJP), too.

Sega AM game centers participated in the promotion, too. I think there's competing versions of this coupon which were downloaded from the same EAST2.VMI link. I would assume the download VMS file would reflect whatever version was being promoted with the latest deadline.

:D Hi there!

Recently I have started making h d texture packs for the dream cast, And no I don't mean like gamingrevived, Where I just take all images and run them through generic upscale.... No.... My very first step is very small batch upscaling... And then from there, I start replacing completely textures with high-def imgs. This has led me to find the flycast community... And what a bunch of people they are! I fit right in with all the other nerds in their discord, And it's so much more than just an emulator.... It is a commute of people reliving their favorite days with their dream cast.. I'm looking for a list of all dreamcast game vmu. Icons..... And I stumbled across this forum... Looking over the last few years, this is so cool and I would love to bring this to the fly cast community. I was wondering if you could answer two quick questions for me.... One I would love to download these and play em... being brand new to this forum, I'm not sure where.... And second..... Seeing is you seem to be the vmu master right now.... Do you buy any chance know of any place that has a lot most or all of the in game Vmu icons? I will be watching this project. And sharing it if you do not mind, Of course, one hundred percent credit will always go to you, But right now me and another user have A. Reddit page that is currently for just our dream cast packs, Making it the largest spot on the internet for Sega dreams cast. Hd texture packs that also include replacing, not just upscaling images... Add, we are expanding to including other games systems, But we would like the Reddit page to be kind of a one-stop shop for really unique content on the internet. Things you just can't find unless you're really, really look, And I feel by sharing the link to this on that Reddit. Page, you would get more eyes upon this thread. And hopefully more help with translating Or finding more content or just more people to enjoy the hard work You and this community has already done. I'm sorry. This reads like a maniac with bad grammar. But I am using talk to text right now... Please reply at your earliest convenience. And thank you for bringing this to the community.

Like R.E.M. once sang: "It's a free world, baby". The more people who could possibly contribute to the missing items, the better.

Once you have like five (or so) posts on this forum, you're granted access to the download section. There's a .cdi called "VMU Archive", in which I have gathered all the minigames etc., that I have been able to find.

I'm not particularly interested in VMU icons. So I don't know of any place that has them. This project is solely about the official minigames, clocks, tools and animations.

Phew! That's a tough one, to be honest. Coupons?! What are the chances, that any of these survived? Slime to none?
Do we have at least the name of each individual coupon? Otherwise I wouldn't even know how to list these properly in the first posts of this thread ;)

Hello space kitties.

It's not everyday new VM software is re-discovered... but first, let's take a moment to talk about JRA horse racing, uma musume, Dreamcast, and where they meet.

About Uma Musume:
"Horse girls.

They were born to run.

They inherit the names of racehorses from another world,
whose histories were sometimes tragic and sometimes wonderful,
and with that they run.

That is their fate."

Uma Musume multimedia franchise is inspired by real-life racehorses and their careers. Dominant champions, career-ending injuries that change the field, fierce rivalries, slumps and comebacks, and much more. The real-life drama of the sport translates well into the anime without need for embellishment. The creators have gone through the diligence to secure approval of these race teams and breeders for use of their namesakes and stories. The franchise includes a multi-season anime, feature-length anime film, character song CDs, mobile gotcha game, and live stage shows. Sports, idols, and animals seems like an odd combination, but it seems to be a winning formula with endless possibility.

About JRA-PAT for Dreamcast:

"PAT" stands for Personal Access Terminal, and enables legally sanctioned JRA event betting from home. PAT software works via telephone or internet and has been available for PC and home console as early as the Famicom. The JRA-PAT discs for Dreamcast were published from 2000-2002 making use of Dreamcast's modem. Consider these seasons as we continue. back to uma musume.

1999 JRA season marked the beginning of a golden era for the sport. Every race was a battle, and each champion fought hard for the tile. During this season Special Week made a name for himself, and is dramatized in Season 1 of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.

Rolling into the 2000 season, four strong challengers arose. With this degree of competition, no bets are safe. Featured in the ROAD TO THE TOP OVA

Events of the 2001 season are featured in a movie which premiered last month. Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era. The new competitors trying to make a name for themselves. Who's name is on your ticket?

As the JRA-PAT software's main feature is betting, it's worth mentioning that there are far more systems than simply "choose the winner". For example a trifecta bet would choose 3 horses, and they would have to place 1,2,3 in any order. With many options, it may seem complicated at first, but in the end it allows spectators to customize a bet with comfort. More info on betting arrangements is available at this website.

Besides the main PAT menu, the GD-ROMs also feature how-to videos and a "memorial" section. The menu music itself is a jazzy lo-fi loop that's a little too good for this feature. The memorial section is where these discs shine. It features stats and race footage from the legendary racehorses of the previous 2 decades. While this may not be as in-depth as the statistics from Yume Bakken '99 or contemporary websites like Keibado OnLine, the offerings of the "Memorial" section is great value for a beginning JRA fan.

The final aspect of this software is the VM function. It's mentioned in the oversized manual included with the disc (not the cover insert), as well as the dricas website (archive.org | my site). WIth the PAT1_VM.VMS software, a user can arrange their bet on-the-go. Then, when returning home, this pre-arranged bet can be placed online via Dreamcast.

While the betting function may not appeal or be useful to many, the menu can still be sampled by those that appreciate the VMS.

The software files are attached, or can be freshly generated from any of the four any V40 JRA-PAT for Dreamcast disc. V50 PAT for Dreamcast does not generate the files on first start. Simply start the disc with an empty VMS. The first menu that shows is a prompt for installation occupying 200 blocks. Select "OK" and wait for the install. No registration needed!

VM2 users: This software currently doesn't launch. Chris has been contacted and will have it patched in a future firmware update. VM2 firmware update now supports this software.
