I have a bunch of controllers I am testing. Which games are quick to boot into and make use of all buttons on the controller?
Currently, I am using Virtual On. If there is something faster and comprehensive, let me know.
I tried Red Dog, since I can better asses the analog stick; however, I have to grab a pickup in the game to allow testing of the X button. The pickup has a time limit and is also not at the start of the first level. The B button has no functionality though I can test it during the boot menu of the system, though I wouldn't be able to simply unplug a controller and plug in a new controller in the game to test that button. I would have to restart the system. There has to be a better option to test controllers.

The 240p Test Suite has a peripheral test mode. I would try that.

Thanks, I will look into these. I don't have Quake 3, but in-game testing, especially of the analog stick, is incredibly insightful, so this may be the better option. I've never encountered a broken analog stick. I've only encountered stick drift with later systems.niZ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 2:17 pm http://cosmicbreaks.com/arcade/

Second @tmarvin's advice - 240p Test Suite for Dreamcast. Should be all you need.

I haven't used this. Is it a simple X-Y axis which shows sensitivity for the stick? I'm more interested in real-game results since I know that sometimes dead-zone numbers don't matter when you actually play a game. I'd rather see a professional studio's game avatar reacting to button presses / stick.
