Hello folks.
About 25 years ago I was a game reviewer, and have about 20 Dreamcast GD-Rom beta discs on a spindle from those days. Early versions of Street Fighter III, Dino Crisis and Jet Set Radio to name a few.
Is there a way to boot these without the system disc? If not, what's a fair price for a system disc? I've seen them listed and not selling for stupid money on eBay.
Any advice appreciated!

Hey welcome. You can do the swap trick, it will work with GD-Rs. You basically turn your DC on with a regular GD inside and let it sit on the date/time screen until the drive stops, then open the lid and switch the disc to the gd-r. You have to use a tape to keep the lid switch from detecting the lid is open.

GD-ROM or GD-R? If they are GD-ROM AFAIK they shouldn't need the System Disc.

Hi Deanzor! Welcome to the DCT
It's always nice to see an industry insider from the DC glory days join these boards.
Without a system disc 2, the only way to boot them will be by doing a swap trick.
A fair price for a system disc 2 is around €250,-
