Mario Party 4 decompiled - back-port to DC possible?

Post by PengoJetz »

So Mario Party 4 has been decompiled. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is just port over to modern PC.

I would be more interested in seeing it run on another contemporary machine like DC. Could it be possible given the greater divide in memory compared to the PS2? On the other hand, Sonic Shuffle might provide some proof of possibility as that game was also outsourced to Hudson soft.

GC is more powerful than both PS2 and Dreamcast, so would need potentially many optimizations. Almost as bad as asking for an OG Xbox port of a game.

Just throwing it out there after I came across the article, the game seems quite lightweight compared to later titles on the cube - I guess it all comes down to how much of system resources are used.
