Update #1: You can now "add on" items to your pledge. This way you can combine items and save on shipping:

Update #2: Sovietborgs DC PAL edition and the possibility to combine it with a super-limited reprint of Xenocider PAL edition:

So Blu-rays and video games that come with a Steelbook actually come from this specific company and are labeled Steelbook (you can see their info below the interior disc holder). It's a patented design, and they're built sturdier.

Metal cases, or metalpaks, are thinner and have weaker hinges on the spine. They're often less quality.

I don't know what you did for Xenocider, because I just got the DVD case release. This is an old thread, but it does a good job explaining the differences: https://collectorsedition.org/forums/sh ... hp?t=12066
Oh I understand now! To be totally honest I wasn't aware it was a registered brand. Well, for Xenocider we found a supplier in China (of course  ) for what we both called steelbooks, like what you'd have if you buy a double-dvd movie, and used full colour vinyl on front and back. I assume we he (and we) shouldn't have used that name, then  We want to do it better this time anyway.

Gotcha! Yeah, "steelbook" has definitely become a catch-all term, which is why I wanted to ask. You're leagues ahead of other devs/publishers, but I've received lesser quality cases that were advertised as Steelbook® from other publishers in the past.

In running a company that is currently needing to enforce our trademark because of unauthorized use, I'd be careful about using "steelbook" anywhere, if the metal case isn't the brand Steelbook® from the rights holder.

Thank you ;)

I totally understand. Ok maybe we can use "steelbox" or "Steelbook style".
