You can start a game by yourself and do pretty much anything you could with other people. You can do quests and whatnot. Only problem is if you're trying to go through the entire game you might come to a section where you need 2 or more people to go onto buttons. This usually is not the case with quests. No one can join your room after you've started a quest.

BTW let me know if you get it working I'll log in.

Even if I never used my character online before or anything like that? The V.1 character is still on my VMU and I have the serial/access keys in my CD case.

So if I logged in and you guys happened to be on, would I be able to find you, or do you have to setup a game together? There are those MY cards or whatever, do we have to exchange them? How would we even do that?

Questions, questions...

There a process to transfer your character. Ill try to find the guide and bring it back.

EDIT: heres what Kireek said: Your dreamcast must have a SNAK already and when it compares the save and the console it detects no relation beerween the 2.

Simply flashreset your dreamcast
http://dreamcast-talk.com/uploads/pso/flashreset.rar

Time/date and other info will be gone.
Go to PSO and input the same SNAK as the PSO char, if you see your char then congrats, you unlocked it, if the SNAK is invalid or if it doesn't match up then the caracther will remain locked.

I'm pretty surprised by how many people are active here. This is better than even the most popular forms for modern systems. I like it.

By "remain locked" does he mean for good? Like if this process doesn't work and the game thinks I'm accessing the SNAK from a second system then will it lock up the character for good, or just until I revert back to the US V.1? I'd hate to lose my guy. Thanks for this though, I'm anxious to try it.

Alrighty, I'll wait.

I'm trying to load that PSOv2 PAL disc, but whenever I put it in DiscJuggler it says the "Unable to load" because of a problem with the TOC (table of contents). Any idea what that's all about?

Burn with disc juggler:

http://psopalace.schtserv.com/downloads/dj4_demo.zip

Then hit new then click Burn CD and DVD images then do the following:
1. Mount the .CDI file
2. Go to the advanced tab
3. Click the down box and set mode to MODE 2
4. Click RAW WRITE
5. Set write speed at lowest possible
6. Hit burn and within 20-30minutes you should have the disc ready

Most games are auto-boot(meaning they start without having to use another disc) I have not had a game that isn't auto boot and I have tried a lot of games
Crazy Taxi
Quake 3
PSO PAL V2
Typing of the Dead
Sonic Adventure 2
Soul Calibur
Half-life
Sonic Shuffle

All these games I have tried and I can confirm that they should start with out the other disc(I don't even know what the other disc is called because I have never run into the problem)

ENJOY.

Thats from here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1319&view=next

It worked for me.

Great news it even easiar for the save transfer! Heres what Kireek said:

You have a pso ver.1 save, now you go and burn a pso ver.2 disk (doesn't matter if it's autoconnect, us, jap, different costumes)
Pso ver.2 has an option to convert the pso ver.1 file to a pso ver.2 file (once it's done, there's no returning back), then you can use any pso disk and that means you can use the autoconnect one with your save file
