Assuming we're talking about the Tethealla server for Blue Burst, some parts of Sylverant could be used in place of the Tethealla parts (namely the patch server would require about 1 line of code change to make it work). I'm not entirely sure which ports blue burst uses, so I can't really comment about the rest of it, but in theory you could run both at the same time (using different databases of course, since I've modified the Tethealla tables a lot since Sylverant started).Impulse wrote:About BB, I'm pretty sure the server would not work alongside sylverant on the same machine. And maybe sylverant will include BB someday.
Keep in mind that Sylverant originally started as a port of Tethealla to *nix. It just ended up being completely rewritten before anyone except me had the code to Sylverant.

Completely right on these points, hence why its disallowed in Sylverant. It'd only take a one or two line change to make it so GC players could join DC games, but there'd be all kinds of issues, as K_I_R_E_E_K has said. At some point I might make an effort to make it work right (doing item translation and the like), but I don't currently think its worth the time. There's already enough DC players FSODing without adding one more variable into the mix.K_I_R_E_E_K wrote:It's not easy and can become problematic just like at schthack.
Thake the legit command, it can't be aplied on a GC player, so the server would had to have some sort of detection to make the command disabled or make it disabled when a GC player enters.
Simple stuff like a material is ok, but complex stuff like a MAG with pbs and stats can become a problem if droped, who knows, maybe it will fsod, maybe the mag will change stats beyond recovery.
I don't recomend GC players to able to enter DC or PC games.
- to many problems
- ppl would use the features on both versions to gain items or to alter existing ones, then complain the items got them kicked in legit games.
