I didn't become a member here until Impulse renewed the site back in 08. I never knew it existed until I met him online in Q3A.

That's when I used to post a lot. I was active then too. I tend to get my dates mixed up.Radkin wrote:Darkfire wrote:I remember you Radkin. You used to be a active poster here right before the site shut down or something.

Since I am new here this history was interesting to me too haha. I am also a former (but no longer) oc user.Impulse wrote:Welcome back Big G. Sorry I didn't see this topic earlier.
Here's a little history lesson on what happened at dc talk.
In 2004 we had our humble beginnings and our small but active forums were doing well. Members such as, Tbone, Mytho, Johnny Stevens, Big G, Warlord, Fatal Pheasant, exterminator along with many others were very involved (some former OC users). It was mostly a gathering of xbox live/dc players. The community was still active up until 2006/2007 then I started to neglect the forums and it became outdated and broken.
The site didn't really shut down, it just took a "break" in 2007. That's when the forums got overrun by spambots/porn and some database issues. I had to install a new phpbb to get everything back up (that's when I met Radkin and Dobbs in 08' and we decided to get dc talk back on its feet).
It's sad that not many of the old members re registered when I made the new forum. But dc talk is better than ever, thanks to our community.
