Would love for it to happen, especially to play some PSO on Xbox(1). But it'll never happen. Microsoft releasing the source to anything.. lmao... Not only that but I'm pretty sure their current Live service is not that infinitely better than their old so they will be just giving themselves competition that way.

Yea I doubt this will ever happen either. Plus didnt the old xbox live software still interact with the new one? Heard a reason they shut it down was because when it was being used it made the new xbox live have to limit the friend count on xbox live on 360 because of how halo 2 worked on xbox live. Just realized that I said xbox live way too many times in that last sentence hah.

You can still play a good amount of Xbox1 games online though still. If you use a LAN tunneling programt called xlink kai. I just played Doom 3 co-op online through this method last night.

Yeah and Sega should give out the server software for all of Dreamcast's online games too. Come on, get real. The best you can hope for is for Microsoft to port the xbox1 xbox live games onto 360, or whatever console comes next with an online component.

1. Microsoft wants to make $$$$.
2. If you do not buy a Xbox360, Bill Gates will die (i.e. MS will NOT make $$$$).
3. To support Xbox will cost even more $$$$.

The only way it will be up agiain legally is if a group of people reverse engineer the whole thing like shithack. But becuase the servers are no longer online your basically going in blind. That's why your not going to see old dreamcast games come back online out of nowhere. I looked into it when the servers were still up and people said there was some really super hard encrption that would be hella hard to crack in the first place. PSO had bad encryption that made making the server so much easier. Its not going to happen. Besides almost all the games can be LAN tunneled except Burnout 3 (sorry green)
