Yes, I forgot the NFL - The Steelers and any team Jeff Garcia plays on.
Steelers cross-reference:
I briefly played Madden 2006 strictly online (only PS2 game I've ever played...boo). I started out at 1-11, using various teams. I then discovered the Pittsburgh running game (the Bus) and then finished 12-19 before they took it offline.
Pittsburgh Offense:
I found that if you run every play, you'll eat up the clock, move down field and get into the endzone a couple of times.
Pittsburgh Defense:
In every game, I watched the QB (spy) and played the left side lineman. What I did was...
1. Always dropped back instead of rush
2. Look for the outside pass or the down field throw.
Why?
All players throw the ball much more than run, so when I gave the "D" that extra cover man, it seemed to tell the PS2 that I was looking for that pass, then it gave me breaks galore.
I never did this with NFL2k2. If I did, my Dreamcast would realistically stop me from gaining yards being the defense would re-adjust to the repetitious play calling. Madden does not seem to do this...lol!
Note:
I also won my only game against another Madden player head-to-head at my place. This guy owns several Madden games and has played in local competition. Radkin and I was surprised when I actually won. He didn't take it too well and I still feel I got lucky - he is the better player. He could not stop Bettis and the Steeler "D" was awesome.
Sorry, re-living a past moment...
