When I type in the "gnome-ppp" stuff in the terminal window I get a message saying:
"E: Gnome-ppp can not be found", something like that.

I've tried several times, typing over and over. Just doesn't work. I'm using all the correct settings for Ubuntu as well. Tried with both version 10.4 and 10.10.

Can anybody help?

Still doesn't work with your new commands.

I think I need to install a different operative system. Any recommendations?

I think the problem lies in that, that my integrated modem isn't connected to the Internet when doing this.
Think I'll wire it up into one of my outlets.

Do you have internet in VMware? Because it seems gnome-ppp isn't installed on your system yet. With the commands I told you to type in it would have attempted to download and install gnome-ppp for you.

No, I don't have Internet in VMware.

Where do I hook up my PC with its internal modem? I tried to connect it to my external modem that serves as the ISP in my house, through ethernet. Didn't work exactly.

All I need to know is where to hook it up with my ethernet cable.

VMware.

It looks really good to be honest. But I'm probably going to use it as for the DC-PC server only.
