Pretty cool site indeed! Though some of your download links appear dead. Such as the DC magazine issue #1

Neoblast I don't think a forum would be any good, it would just he another spam hole for troll and vacant.
More content would he fun, but his site is his own creation, and what he feels is relivent is all that really matters when it comes to what he decides to put there.

He asked for feedback, I gave mine. There isn't much content, that is a fact.Macabre wrote:Neoblast I don't think a forum would be any good, it would just he another spam hole for troll and vacant.

I gave some options to solve that. And that's it.
Nice try you fool! lol BBQ!

Re: My new Dreamcast site: TempleOfDreamcast.tk
Maybe it was the way your worded it, but it sounded rather harsh & possibly insulting to him. In my opinion the site is great. For a completely self created website, it has as many pictures as possible, and very relevant information.
Hardly anyone knows much about the dreamcast link cable, and it usually takes a good search to find a list of games that work (most of the time its "maybe" and "i heard this worked"), where as here he has a complete list of the games that actually do work.
He put a lot of work into the accessories section, instead of just listing and giving brief descriptions, he actually details how the multi-memory cards work, as well as information regarding manufacturing company of unofficial products of interest (Taito and the train controller for example), as well as a very comprehensive list of fan forums and helpful links, and more.
I'm not trying to be combative with you, I just don't think your idea of 'more content' would be appropriate for a data-based fan-site. Cheats & guides, by one single person? Any gamer would rely on released material or gamefaqs or (in the case of classic gaming), just experience from playing.
I'm happy he doesn't have much on reviews, as that is more of his opinion other than a factual reference. Your idea of activities and a forum is more along the lines for a social website for fans to gather. He made a data-listing fan-site, with rarely an opinion that makes a huge impact on what he's talking about. He did not make a community site like dreamcast-talk.com
(and would you really want another dreamcast forum to divert attention away from this one?)
I will continue to agree that more content would always be fun. It does have a lot of very helpful information, but maybe if he compiled the pictures and listings of all the more exotic dreamcast items (dc direct crap) as well as game's released per region comparison, then it would be more of a definitive information website.
Most websites just show pictures with hardly any comments or descriptors relating to what they are showing, so if he keeps adding like he has here, then his website will be better than dreamcastgallery.com or segagagas collection.
Also he could comment on the possible variations of some of the products he has pictured (versions of the Katana dev kit, for example - hardly any one knows nor cares about this, but there is more than one type, or versions of the fishing rod controller, or differences in the official & non official samba maracas).
edit; and how often do you see a video game related fan site with this many citations? You could reference his site on a damn college essay with how proper he did his citations.

Re: My new Dreamcast site: TempleOfDreamcast.tk
Still in less than 5 minutes you have seen all there is to see there, if that's what he wants , well good for him. But if he wants his site to survive he needs more than that, a reason for people to come back.
That wall of text wasn't needed I like his site, not many active dreamcast sites explain those details about the dreamcast. And please don't turn this topic into a discussion, you like his site well, I like it too but I was just adding what he asked for : FEEDBACK.
And that was my opinion, not pun intended in any way. If you don't like my opinion, well, that's why society is so plural because people have different points of view.

Re: My new Dreamcast site: TempleOfDreamcast.tk
Well, i didnt expect this sort of response, but i am glad that some people do genuinely like my site. I guess that i forgot that no matter what you do, there will always be people like neoblast that find something to complain about. Im sure if all the things he suggested were implemented on my site, he would have just found something else to complain about. I deal with people like that on youtube all the time. I guess you cant please all the people all the time.
Thanks to everyone that complimented my site, and i know i gotta fix the download section still...
Thanks for having my back Macabre!

My site will "survive" because its survival does not depend on the site turning a profit or getting a certain amount of traffic. I realized that a DC site wasnt very likely to make any money before i even started to make it. I made it anyways because i like the DC and i know in due time, most other DC sites wont be able to make enough money to survive, and one by one they will close. When sites like dreamcast-talk and other DC sites start to disappear (as they have before) because they arent making enough money to cover costs, TempleOfDreamcast will live on because it was never expected to make money to survive in the first place...Neoblast wrote:But if he wants his site to survive he needs more than that

That's the most polite thing to do specially if you advertise your site on another one. Both parts winImpulse wrote:Could you please add a link to Dreamcast-Talk.com on your website?
