(rant) I hate repackagers.

Its nice that some ebay and classic game retailers are concerned about how their product looks, as I know a few do a great job of case replacement. But honestly I think I would be happier if that was left entirly to myself.

Case in point, my sega saturn collection has a few thorns that I've always wanted to replace.

These beautiful cases have a few common fracture sites due to their odd shape, but as you can see in that photo, that is a unique fracture site that only happens when someone takes the disc-holding black/grey tray out of the clear plastic and re-inserts it poorly. Had the retailer I got this game from been more cautios, maybe gentler, then it wouldn't have that break.

While that is more of an annoyance, the utmost travisty to a Saturn fanatic / collector as myself is the following.

When the retailer is just damn lazy and puts the tray in completely wrong. This aggrivates me to no end, because not only does that stress the plastic which leads to fractures, but it also rips the back artwork and gradually warps the paper so that it never lays flat again. Believe me I've tried pressing these pages flat again, it just won't stay.


Robo Aleste is one of my more favored games, ever, and it has a flaw that I can't afford to fix, and typically is an impossible game to track down in good condition. Now with the disc rot thing haunting me in the back of my head (which these games don't have), i know the only way for me to fix this is to chance a new purchase, repackage them myself (if the new games havn't been flawled in the same way), and resell the lesser of the two, which will make me feel like a bastard.
