Can't remember how to get online with PSO :-?

neither the pal or ntsc can load my old character - the option to continue lights up with the vmu in but when i press a to load it, nothing happens. It just pops up saying 'reload'

That means you old char was played by using a SNAK different from the one your using now.
You are using a snak that works with the game disk but not with your save game, you char is locked until you input the right snak.

On pal pso, it will ask to reload, on ntsc it will say it's corrupt, it doesn't matter, it's locked.

What is the right snak? i have no idea, but you should know it. You used a snak to play pso before, just flash the memory on the dreamcast, insert a pal pso disk and re enter the snak you used before, if done correctly, both the game and the save will be playable.

If you can not reload your level 43 character, I can assist by giving you a few items. I have nothing specially rare, but I do have almost every legit mag. The items I do give you will be from a backup character, and are all 100% legit and self found.

You need to have the DIALUP settings set in the flashrom as well as the broadband settings, or PSO will not work properly. Also, I think you need to have it set up for a static IP for PSO as well (I do not think that DHCP works, but I may be wrong here).

Use an old version of planetweb or something to fill in stuff in the dialup settings, and see if that helps in getting to the "Website" option in PSOv2US.

I got my character working!!

Had an idea earlier at work thats been running through my head all day and even more so when I saw the post above about the SNAK code - the Dreamcast in my little boys room is my oldest Dreamcast - the idea I had was that maybe that was the one I used to use online- and it was/is!! I put my old vmu in and the character appeared on screen straight away!!

So i inserted my boot disk then my NTSC copy and altared the setting as back then we had a different router with a different IP address- then tryed on PSO v2 PAL and BAM - Dreamcast online once again!! I feel like a kid again lol

Look forward to seeing people online soon - I'll be on there for a fair few hours tonight

my characters only level 36 though so could always use some traded items his name is Predator and he's a HuCast

Yes, once the dreamcast saved SNAK and the char SNAK match then the game alows the save to be used, a different dc requires the same snak, if another one is used, the snaks will not match.
