Lost Dreamcast Classic: Frame Gride

Post by DCUltrapro »

not sure if anyones heard of this game much less seen it but I wanted to see what your opinions were of it. Basically to give you a bra-stroke of the game its made by the people who made Armored Core and therefore it is very much the same KIND of game in a sense that you build and customise a massive mech/core/frame and do battle.

Only difference with Frame Gride is that its set in medieval times and consists of actually building parts from rare crystals that you find when killing enemies, rather than simply saving up and buying the parts you want. You also have magic attacks and weapons and can fight with swords and shields, almost as if you were a giant in a suit of robotic armor.

Its such an awesome game its a shame it never had a PAL or US release nor a sequel, it could really have done with one. I made this video about it to try and show what its like. The menus are in Japanese but its fairly straight forward once you know what your looking for.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone else has played it

you don't really need one mate, there are loads of gamefaqs that explain things and the majority of the game is pretty straight forward, when your in the drone screen you press a button and it shows you a picture of all drones you could get and shows the gem combination required to get each one. the only thing that would need translating is the script I suppose. But yeah its an awesome game, love playing it, not sure how we could use it for contests though, how would you reckon we do that Maz? I can't honestly think of a way

Seemed a lot like the developers themed it off the mech battles from the anime series Escaflowne.

yeah it does look like escaflowne may have been the inspiration, pretty awesome game though, I wish there were a pal release but it never happened, still I'd really like to hear from some people who've played it and know a lot about it, I'd love to know what some of the rarer weapons and parts are as I haven't discovered much

Pretty awesome game.

Better register and show your support! We really need another game in English!

Also, I patched Advanced War 2001 with the patch Nebelwerfer made that translated the game from Japanese to English, you should check it out, pretty awesome game.

sounds cool, how does this work and do they need us to do anything? I'd love more than anything to get Hundred Swords translated but upon retrospect, Frame Gride might be a more realistic aim lol
