As for the costumes, I'm not home right now but I know at least kasumis default costume was untextured.
I took a look at it its not untextured or flat shaded. You can actually see color banding on its texture when you do the zoom in after the match.

yes it was the "bandaï" version, I forgot the title, but it had nothing similar with the two others (very different gameplay, and quiet poor graphics I remember)

That's the one ! I don't know much about the Gundam games, though I have a sealed copy of 0079. I want to get Zeon Dx at some point as I've heard good things about it.

oui il vaut mieux qu'on arrête là les considerations odorantes ! :)

Concerning Renpou vs Zeon DX, I used to search a original copy, but with no succes (at a decent price I mean) so I settled for a backup.
The game was amazingly beautiful (0079 is not as nice), but unfortunately, the backup had kind of very regular micro-freezes (each 3s approx) bug. It looked like each micro-freeze appeared at each CD data loading. I guess this is probably due to uncorrect data mapping on the CD surface.
it's a pity, because that spoils the party somewhat... :/

hmm i used to have a back up that worked well, i can't remember the source though. i had it on ps2 at the time so i pretty much tried it as a comparison. it is my favorite gundam game to date. controls are simple and responsive, though the responsiveness relies on the abilities of the suit. so if you use a zaku 2 it wont accelerate as fast as something like a gundam or a gelgoog. it's not as much of a simulation as side story 0079, but i almost feel like playing a simulation bogs down the fun of it all.

Wait, so that game looks better than the FPS Gundam game? I always thought 0079 was comparable to many later PS2 quality games.

Being a FPS gamer, I really loved 0079, it gave me that feeling of driving a huge mech.

I even emulated the game on NullDC and mapped the controls to my Saitek Flight sim joystick, man it was the BEST way to play that game, especially in HD 1080P!
