A look at a Tokyo arcade

Post by Dreamcastgaga »

Hi, I put up a quick video on Youtube of one of the best arcades in Tokyo, the Taito Centre in Akihabara. First time I have ever put a video together but I think it would be fun for people in back home to get a peek of what an arcade looks like in Japan in 2013.

Well I watched a good chunk of this and thought it was neat. Thanks for taking the video.

I stepped into a few arcades when I was in Japan in 2007. Lots of mahjong games and odd networked strategy tactical battle sims. I definitely never ran into a floor of shmups lol, although at the same time I didn't look for one because I didn't know I really liked shmups at that point.

I haven't made the plunge and bought a naomi setup, but it's something I periodically fantasize about and check the costs on. Plenty of cool naomi games were Japan only - do you have any idea where one would go about finding used naomi games in Japan? Either at brick and mortar stores, or online, outside of rakuten or yahoo auctions?

To be honest Yahoo auctions is normally about the best. I too have pondered the idea of picking up a Naomi one day for Powerstone and CvS.

If you are after anything in particular let me know and I will have a snoop around. I also put up a guide to game shops in Akihabara if any of the DC-talk crew are ever in Tokyo - http://dreamcastgaga.blogspot.jp/2013/0 ... abara.html

Let me know what you think!

That's a great post! And thanks for making yourself available for taking a look. You always have a great selection in your online store, and I assume that's based on what you see in the shops.
