Gday
Ive recently joined this site, and have also just purchased a BBA from Japan that should arrive in the coming weeks. Ive got a US version of Q3A and a PAL version of PSO also incoming, this will be enough to get me online, correct?
Ill only be using DC pad to start with for Q3A but will move on to the superior method in time.
How many regular players are there roughly for each game?
Will i have to enter a valid PSO serial to get online?
More questions as i think of them, this is exciting!
Ill be online soon!

Re: Ill be online soon!
I've never played Q3A (don't own it), so I can't comment on that. However, I did write the PSO server that you'll be connecting to, so I can comment on that.
Usually in the course of a given day, you'll see anywhere between 5 and 15 people on through various times of the day (not meaning all at once, I'm saying over the whole course of a day there'll be between 5 and 15 different people on). Usually there are more people around in the evenings in the US than at other times of the day. Also, there's an arranged game time that people have put together on this forum every Saturday. Weekends, you'll probably see more people around, for obvious reasons.
As for whether you need a unique serial or not, I would highly recommend it, as you are not allowed to register for an account with a non-unique serial. You don't necessarily need to register an account, but there are various perks to doing so, including the ability to automatically backup your character to the server.

Re: Ill be online soon!
Sweet thanks for the info.
If i backup the character to the server, what does that mean for playing with the character offline?

It doesn't mean anything in particular for offline play. Just that when you're online, it'll automatically get backed up periodically so that if something were to happen, you'd be able to restore it.

Ah ok cool.
Does it matter if the serial has been registered back in the day when the official servers were up?

Re: Ill be online soon!
Not at all. I don't have any access to Sega's data, so I wouldn't have any way to know if the serial was ever registered to start with.
