Do I need to get dialup to play online?

Interested in playing online to see what its like, would I need to use one of the free dialup sites mentioned in that post or could I just plug it into a wall and it'll run on regular internet?

Also, what are he best games to play online? and are they active?

Hello, to play online you will either need a proper dial up account (not sure which ones work, someone else will be able to tell you), a BBA (BroadBand Adaptor), or the 'Netopia method', which i know very little about.
